Legalisation

If your document is going to a foreign country (except a country which is or used to be part of the British Commonwealth), it is likely to require an apostille.  This is issued by the UK Foreign and Commonweath Office for a fee.  Their website www.fco.gov.uk is helpful - look under the tab 'Legalise documents'.

In addition some countries also require legalisation by the consulate of that country for which a further fee is payable.

If your document is going to a country which is or used to be part of the British Commonwealth, it is unlikely to need legalisation.

Whatever your situation, Rowena can advise you during your initial call.

She can arrange to obtain the apostille and any additional legalisation for you via experienced consular agents.

Translation

At the appointment, part of a notary's role is to ensure that you understand the document you are about to sign, so your documents may need to be translated into English.  If so, Rowena can organize translation on your behalf by professional legal translators.

Commissioner for Oaths

Rowena is also empowered to act as a Commissioner for Oaths.
